Not a lot of new "news" to put on here, but I felt guilty for not posting some of the latest pictures. Reese is now a healthy 2 year old, with her weight stable at "only" 87 pounds. It doesn't appear she's going to fill out too much more, and I should stop trying to fatten her up. The changes in food was going to both bankrupt and drive me crazy, simultaneously! I tried adding broths, cooking chicken and "people food", along with special canned foods, and she eats better (today) with the latest formula of just dried food. I've got her eating over 2 cups a day, almost 3 on some days, and feel that's a success!
For her behaviors, she's still a big chicken! She passed her CGC test, and comes to work one night a week, but hides under the desk a lot of the time. I don't pacify her, and ignore her skittishness, but it's not getting better. She seems to "want" to go, and loves playing with the light and running around with me there, but when the kids wake up, she turns all chicken. I don't think she'd make a good therapy dog, but we still go to training classes.
We are down to one cat at home, and this seems to make her lonely, so perhaps we'll get some kittens for her to eat, uhm.. play with. It's just not the time right now.
She's whining to go play in the snow, pretending she needs to do her business, when we all now she just wants to frolic, so I better go let her play before she gets bored. NO ONE wants a bored Shiloh. I'll try to put up our latest pictures, and take some more for the winter, and update this blog. It's nice to have an online record of how we are doing! Mostly, she just wants to play, and seems very happy, with a little goofy mixed in!
Really grateful for my Shiloh every day....

Random pictures
Reese had her surgery last week, on Wednesday. I brought her home on Thursday and she is supposed to take it easy until next Friday. What a chore! I was very worried about her pain level, and realize now someone needs to be worried about mine! She is going to drive me nuts and has no clue she had surgery. She needs to constantly be reminded not to jump, not to chase the cats, and to take it easy! I'm going to have to put her in her crate more than usual because I think she might be developing a hernia. I noticed there was some swelling and some hardness when I checked her incision today. It wasn't there yesterday, so I don't know what to think.
On the news side, she is 64.3 pounds at 6 months old. That's huge, and hard to see in the photos. Well, in Shiloh size that's not HUGE, but for me, and the vet, it's big! And a reason for the vet to charge extra money for her spay. 540$ and no microchip! I am still in shock. But it's done, and there will be no puppies for her, which makes me sad on one level, but smart on another. She is still smart, and is really showing signs of accepting me as her alpha. Well, Necco is the alpha, and I'm the "other" alpha, but she's doing great on the housebreaking (Reese, not Necco) and leaves the cats alone most of the time. She has a new friend across the street and makes an impression to whoever sees her. The neighbors had company, who promptly came inside their house and asked if they knew there was a wolf in the yard! I decided to try to get her ears braced so they would stand erect, but the breeder didn't seem to have the time to help, and on the forum, the closest help I received was from DC. A little far for a day trip, so floppy they will be! It gives her character! (more)
She doesn't seem to get carsick anymore, so hopefully she's grown out of that and I can shampoo the car one last time. She still has gas strong enough to clear a room (even in her sleep) but I don't want to change foods just yet. She stopped eating poop (as of now) but I still give her the tablet to keep her from doing that. What a nasty habit! Of course, now I have to clean the yard more often, but that's ok! And since WHEN does a dog only like to do her business in our yard? When we go for a walk, she'll hold it until we get back home! Crazy dog... of course, I know a human like that, too! Not mentioning names!
Enjoy the latest pics, I just took a few off my phone since my camera is really down. New SD card didn't help, I think it's just tired. I'll add that to my birthday list and it's not too early for a gift to myself! I don't want to wait until she's full grown to get some more pictures in, so maybe I can bribe Tamyra into taking some with her fancy camera... hint hint hint.
Enjoy!

Still growing...
I don't have any new pictures to put up, since my memory card for the camera seems to be reading full (despite being empty - not even tech support understand it), so I have to go get a new one. And since my camera printer stopped printing, well, now I of course want a new system!
But I wanted to sign in and post that we went to the vet today, and Reese weighs 63.2 pounds! That's 10 pounds per month! She turned 6 months old on 5/14 and does not look like a porker, but she is HUGE! She is such a sweet baby, but is learning how to growl and bark when she needs to. Her housebreaking skills are near perfect, but she does like to eat cat beds when no one is looking. Her favorite toys are ones that make noise, like the "duckie" that quacks or the squeaky ones, I think she likes to bite them until I've nearly lost my mind, and then once more before dropping them! She learned how to pick up two at one time, and walk away from me when I'm losing patience. We are working on learning how to "shake" with either hand, and putting toys back into the hall closet before bed. The latter sends her into a panic of how do I take all my toys at once and make them MINE...
Reese does like the kitties, but is getting tired of being "set up" when they walk up to her and cry so she gets in trouble. She's very gentle with them overall, but just really wants to be friends! (And they are all so cranky)
I hope Reese is enjoying having us as we are having her! She goes to be fixed tomorrow, no puppies for her, but this means more playdates! Rogue is getting even BIGGER than her, and I want Reese to take him down! He's really adorable (don't tell Tamyra or Jesse) but he drools WAY too much. Reese on the other hand, uses a napkin (don't I wish)!
Ears are an issue, if I let them be, that is. Hers just a ren't up naturally. Every once in a while her right ear perks up for about 30 seconds, then she realizes it and lets it flop back down. I tried putting Knox gelatin in her food, and that didn't work. I do give her some chews with glucosamine chondroitin (sp?) but all of this hasn't worked. A knowledgeable Shiloh ear "expert" suggested I get them braced, but finding someone locally wasn't possible. I talked to the breeder about it, but she seems very busy and not able to make time. Plus, everyone keeps telling me her floppy ears give her personality. I just worry the longer I wait to brace them or do something, the harder it will be. So we'll see what happens!
For now, I'm going to go walk my moosepuppy and take her to see Rogue, so she'll be tired for her surgery. Tomorrow she gets to go meet Sid and Jill, so that will be fun!
More pictures soon...

Moosepuppy is growing up fast!
I finally pulled out my desk and sorted through the wires to discover it was not the wire for the camera that was chewed, but one I don't use! But I had two bad USB ports on the computer. Easy to fix since I had some extras, so here are the latest pictures! And Reese didn't even have to bite my leg to get me to post these. But don't let Omi see because my desk is messy! It was tax week! Thanks for checking them out, let me know what you think... Just click on the picture and select "view slideshow", hitting F11 if you want to see fullscreen. You can also slow things down to catch the captions, since I'm long winded when I'm this tired! But Aunt Deb we put these up fast for you! Enjoy!

Spring photos (of snow!)
My mom was taking too long to put up some photos, so I finally bit all the computer wires so I could do it myself! Here is the link:
Mom got the wires put back together now (too bad her computer isn't up to par-I know Dad, I'm working on it)! But we BOTH hope you love the pictures. Ok, mom's super tired from work and needs me to go nap with her, but we'll be awake later and look forward to taking more pictures while she's off the next few days, and the weather is beautiful! Hope you are doing well where you are and mom says to keep watching for BOTH ears to come up soon!

Puppy play dates!
Reecee continues to grow and change, she's becoming a real sweetheart now that she isn't biting AS MUCH! She's had two play dates since my last post, one with my friend's collie Addicus, and one with a great dane Rogue. I also put up some pictures of us around the house, so enjoy the latest pictures!
Let me know what you think!

And the biting continues....
Last night we took some pictures of her biting me while I was holding her. We tried to have a "coming to Jesus meeting" about her teeth and my skin, but it didn't work out. I like the last picture best of all, so enjoy!
Just click on the picture, and it will take you to Picasa's web site, from there, click on view slideshow, and enjoy! And I know I look terrible... I was just about to go take a shower and sleep!
